NEW STYLE - has hinged back for rear access and supports exterior mounting to free up space in coop.
This new style has two new features that may be useful to some hen owners-
Hinged Back - The optional hinged back version of the nest box allows accessing the nest area from outside your coop. This feature allows pushing hens out of the box and closing the roost bar to exclude hens from the nest box from outside of your coop.
Exterior Mount - Exclusive Best Nest Box feature. To free up space inside your coop the nest box can be configured to in such a way that the bulk of the nest box is on the exterior of your coop while the hens still enter from the inside of the coop. Can be configured with egg collection on interior or exterior.

NEW Hinged Back Version
The hinged back version of the nest box allows accessing the nest area from the exterior of your coop. This feature allows pushing hens out of the box and closing the roost bar to exclude hens from the nest box from outside of your coop. The Hinged Back version can be configured as a front or rear rollout just like the standard version. Additionally, the hinged back version can also save space in your coop by configuring it in such a way that the bulk of the nest box is outside of the coop and the hen opening is mounted flush with the coop's interior wall (see pictures for all possible configurations)

Roll out (aka rollaway) nest box
Uses a precisely sloped floor which allows eggs to roll out or roll away from hens to a separate convenient and protected collection area where they stay clean and unbroken.

Dual floor system
Keeps nest box cleaner. Wire mesh collection area allows easy and quick cleaning and debris to escape nest box. AstroTurf nest pad in laying area gives hens a more comfortable hygienic area for laying. Learn more about why we don't extend the laying nest pad into the collection area.

Community style nest box
A community style nest box does not have any walls or dividers in the laying area. The laying area is one continuous open space. This differs from divided nest boxes that have walls/dividers between the spaces where hens lay. A community style nest box helps alleviate overcrowding issues. Reversible collection area
Can be easily configured at any time as front or rear roll out to fit your needs. In addition, this new Hinged Back style nest box can be configured as an inside or outside mount. The outside mount configuration has the bulk of the nest box to be outside the coop leaving more space inside your coop.

Keeps hens out of nest box at night
Rotate perch bar up after egg collection to close off access to nest box and keep hens from dirtying nest box at night. Rotate perch bar down after hens have roosted elsewhere to allow access for laying the next morning. This step can be automated with the PerchPopper.

Gives hens easy access to the nest box and also a sense of a safe and secure nesting area. Learn more
