A few of our hens started to eat their eggs and we needed a solution fast. The Best Nest Box was easy to assemble, mount and our hens quickly learned to lay in the nest box. Such a simple design that works as advertised. Couldn't be happier we purchased the Best Nest Box for our girls!
I absolutely love this nest box as it has saved our eggs. We had a scrub jay eating eggs in our coop which quickly taught our flock of 7 to also eat the eggs. This nest box has solved this problem! It took about a week to train them but now we get plenty of fresh unbroken eggs every day. The construction is great and is built to last. We are very happy!
So far so good Love Love Love it! I have seen them before and because I was a novice would not purchase! Didn’t think I needed such an item. Well, 20 years into it and quite a few hens later, I cannot believe I waited so long! I actually have a new batch of chicks and they just began to lay the week before my box arrived. They are fussing over it already! It seems to me they are saying, “Get out its my turn”! Very nice and well made, we reversed it and put it about 18-20 inches above the ground making sure the main roost is much higher and food is in a completely different place therefore they it seems they ise the box for what it was intended for! Thanks BFerg

installed 2 of the small nest boxes in my run. They are solid construction sheet metal, and look great. i would assume they will last an extremely long time. The hens haven't used them yet since they're molting, but i dont anticipate any issues.
Installation was a breeze...my little pullers just treated me to my first eggs yesterday! I had to get them used to it first, and the tip about pinning the curtain back for a stretch did the trick. Now I have to figure out how to get some heat in egg tray as winter approaches....

For some reason some of our younger hens started laying on the floor of the coop instead of the nest boxes. I tried obstacles and other tricks to try and discourage them, but nothing seemed to help until I put one of your single boxes on the floor. The girls started using it immediately! Problem solved.

The Best Nest Box roll out nest box (also called a rollaway nest box) has a sloped floor which causes eggs to roll away from the hens to a collection area. This roll out feature keeps the eggs clean and unbroken and all in one place for easy collection.

Hello, These are the rough dimensions of the hole you will need for the egg tray. The tray measures 17 5/16” long. The height of the hole depends on the depth of your coop wall. If your wall is 1" deep, the hole would need to be 6.5" to 7" tall. If your wall is 4" deep, the hole would need to be 11.5" to 12" tall.
